This standard basic course covers the tasks and procedures to safely operate a robot fitted with a handling tool.

Description

Learner Profile:

Anybody with an interest in robotics. Individuals seeking to get into the field of robotics and automation. Individuals seeking to build a technical understanding of robot operations. Operators with little or no robotics experience.

Learner prerequisites:

Candidates should at minimum have completed the Junior Cert with pass grades in at least five ordinary level subjects (including Maths and English).

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the course the learners will be able to:    

  • Know and respect the safety rules
  • Be able to safely move the robot in manual mode
  • Be able to create a basic program
  • Know how to run and / or test a program
  • Be able to create and recover backup files
  • Be familiar with FANUC telephone support requirements and procedures


Course Content:

• Controller cabinet description


• Robot safety and awareness


• Teach Pendant layout and operation


• Safely moving the robot


• Recover the robot to HOME position ready to start the next program


• Telephone support procedures

1 Day

Exam/Continuous Assessment details:

Learners will complete a series of tasks as a practical demonstration of the theory taught during the course.
