Learner Profile:

Prior knowledge or experience working in a related field of familiarity with site work or studying towards a construction related or additive manufacturing profession will be an advantage but is not essential. An interest in and a willingness to learn the course content is required.

Course Aim:

The aim of this programme is to provide the learner with an in-depth overview of the fundamentals of the 3D Construction Printing (3DCP) technology. An example of the use of this technology is 3D concrete printed houses and buildings.

This course will provide the learner with unique knowledge of 3DCP with an insight into the state-of-the-art technology and the fundamental mechanics behind its operating principles. Current applications and business opportunities will be presented, with financial models discussed. The live demonstration will give a practical insight into the processes and daily operations of the 3DCP facility, tying theory and working considerations together.

This course will consist of two parts. The first will involve the technical information relevant to the materials and technical processes involved to ensure successful construction printing operations. The second part is a practical demonstration of the technology in a 3DCP facility to give a real-world overview of the 3DCP process for the learner.
